It’s not always easy to be the girlfriend of a real Italian, because you often get an overdose of pasta and pizza 😉. That’s why I have tested many different Italian restaurants in Valencia. I even think I have found a place that can be called Little Italy!
Once you have tasted real Italian food, you quickly become critical about the different choices of Italian restaurants. Sometimes it is just not special and the kitchen itself is not really Italian…
So where exactly do you find the real good Italian restaurants?
My favorite Italian restaurants in Valencia
1. La Cantinella, for a culinary feast!
If you pay 50 euros per person in Valencia and it feels like you haven’t paid too much, that’s something to say… In La Catinella, I ordered the surprising seafood menu. You get 3 starters, 3 different pastas and 3 delicious desserts. Moreover, the service is very good it is a owned by a Italian family and I am sure you get to meet them, mama in the kitchen or maybe her son is giving you recommendations on what to orden. The products are always fresh and excellent quality. Furthermore, the food is authentic Italian, simply delicious! I went with two real Italians and they agreed that this is the best Italian restaurant in Valencia. I’m definitely going back to try more! I certainly recommend this tasteful menu, but it was a lot, so be sure to arrive with an empty stomach! If you are not really hungry, you can still choose something else from the menu because the prices are very reasonable. Recommend: the panna cotta with basil!
Open every day from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm and 8:30 pm to 11:30 pm except on Mondays, when La Cantinella is closed.

2. L’Alquimista, for hungry Italian foodies!
This is a real Italian jewel in Valencia. With only five tables, I would recommend making a reservation. Be sure to try the tasting menu of 25 euros, it is a very good deal! You can also eat many different kinds of pasta from the house and the chefs cook right in front of you. The menu starts with various, delicious antipasta, then they keep serving pasta every time the plates and pans are empty again. The pasta is really delicious, so your eyes will probably be bigger than your mouth 😉 Be beware though, there are also some heavenly desserts, so keep some room for that! I have been there a few times now, and it remains a top restaurant! Definitely worth a visit!
L’Alquimista is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays but open the rest of the week from 12 pm-3:30pm and 7 pm-11 pm!

3. Le Favole, enjoying on the terrace while the kids play on the playground
From pizzas, pasta, antipasti to meat and fish, you can enjoy lunch or dinner at Le Favole! Not even talking about the desserts, who doesn’t love a delicious tiramisu? The restaurant is located right in the historic center of Valencia in a quiet little square. So during your walk through the historic center, it is definitely worth stopping here and making a reservation OR just settle down right away! Also very nice to go with the kids because there is a playground in front of the door so you can sit on the terrace for a long time. The price-quality ratio is therefore very good here 😉
You can come here every day from 13:00 to 01:00!

4. Spacca Napoli, where you will meet the real Italians
At Spacca Napoli good pizzas from the authentic pizza wood oven, even the real Italians who visit Valencia you will encounter here! There are 3 different locations of Spacca Napoli in Valencia, I often go to Russafa myself.
Open every day from 8 pm to 12 am and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday you can also enjoy a pizza lunch between 1 pm and 4 pm.

5. La Forcola, Pizza night!
This restaurant takes place just outside the old town in the Quart area, close to Quart Gates street and botanical garden, hence it is best known to the local public. I started with a glass of Aperol Spritz and ordered a pizza from the authentic stone oven. They also brought us some small pizza rolls which were very tasty! We had to wait a while for our pizza, but as a compensation we got a blue cheese sauce that matched our pieces of bread perfectly. The pizza was also very tasty and the pasta seemed very delicious. Inside there is a pleasant atmosphere and the service is also very good!

6. Lambrusqueria, good deal for lunch!
This Italian restaurant is situated in a street full of restaurants. Lambrusqueria offers a full menu with an aperitif of choice, main course and dessert. You can choose between three different dishes per category for only 6.95 euros (without drinks). My favorite starter is the spinach ricotta salad, delicious and fresh! Usually, I don’t go there in the evening, because prices will rise and you can find better Italian restaurants for that price, but with the cozy candle lights, the restaurant is a perfect place for a romantic dinner!
Open every day from 1:00 pm to 1:00 am!

7. Tinto Fino, delicious Italian wines by the glass.
I’ve been to Tinto Fino a few times already, because they have a very large assortment of delicious wines that you can order by glass. Moreover, the restaurant has a 60s interior and you can sit at the wine and tapas bar as well as in the restaurant area. I personally like the wine bar the most! It is a place where you can spend hours with friends with a glass of wine and some delicious tapas. The food is a mix of Italian and Spanish and the last time I was there I had Bravisismas potatoes, which is really my favorite. Please note, these potatoes are also very spicy. The food is nothing really special, but the atmosphere is very relaxed, and the service is friendly (maybe that’s because they gave me a Limoncello after dinner 😉).
